![]() We need (4) wires from this connector to achieve a functional CSS and working reverse lights. Pins 1,8 and 7 are shaded because they are not used. Here is the MLPS connector face you will have on your transmission. I do not believe Ford changed much as far as these wire colors go but again, I reccomend you get the correct book for your car. Note: this information is accurate for the wiring I performed on my 2001 CVPI. They are available on eBay for not a lot of money (I bought mine in perfect shape for $10.00) and anyone who's done some extensive wiring knows they are worth ten times that. I highly recommend you guys go out and buy the Ford Motor Company wiring diagram book for your specific model year panther. I've already done all the wiring on my car so I'll share some information with you. There's tons of information on the mechanical parts but nothing on wiring so here it is. The clutch safety switch and reverse lights are the first things that come to mind. One thing I don't really see specifics on is the wiring changes that need to be made. These threads are very helpful and most of the information is out there already for you guys. So there is already a few threads floating around pertaining to the manual transmission conversion (T45, TR3650, T56 ect) I thought I was done with this but looks like I'm going to put some other project on the rear burner and put some more money again on the trans So with a 26 spline shaft matched with the proper clutch/pressure plate set-up I can expect to get the ratings I was looking 3 years ago. The 10 spline will either twist or breaks so the answer to this issue is a 26 spline imput shaft. Once the internals are up-graded the weak point is the 10 spline imput shaft and it,s no big surprise. When I bought my trans 3 years ago from american powertrain I got the best available back then and it was suppose to be capable of 495 lbtq. Not too long ago I went back to their website and the same spec are now rated for 430 lbtq and not the 495 as advertised. So I called a reputable local shop that is a tremec dealer that has an excelent reputation and told him abouth my my trans and the so called 495 lbtq rating.Īccording to him back then the aftermarket wasnt too crazy abouth the TR3650 but now there are a lot more options. The only thing adding strength on the basic upgrade list is they stuffed the input into a deep freeze which may or may not be an improvement I got my tr3650 for $600 so I went that route but it is the least aftermarket supported Stock rebuilted transmission like the TR 3650 can be found for abouth 800$ to 1000$ while the up-graded tr3650 can be found for around 1700$ That should bring you around the 400 lbtq torque rating so keep in mind that anything above that will require a 26 spline input shaft.įrom my own experience I would highly recomended you that you buy at least rebuilted transmission or up-graded transmission as often the used unit need to be rebuilted and will cost you more at the end. ![]() Upgraded Low Alloy Steel Bearing Retainer Many transmission specialist will be able to up-grade any of theses transmission to fit higher torque rating. Keep in mind that the spec are for bone stock transmission regardless what the aftermarket has to offer. High performance transmission with 6 speed Will fit any 92.5+ cars with modification on the trans crossmember and drive shaft and hydraulic clutch conversion. ![]() Can be found in the 2007 to present Mustang shelby GT500 High performance transmission with 6 speeds Can be found in 2003/2004 Mustang cobra and the 2000 mustang cobra R high performance transmission that is rather rought and noisy. Excelent torque rating at 500 lbtq or 600lbtq depending the model will fit ANY cars with proper bell housing Better torque rating over the t-45 for stock and mildly modified cars ![]() Can be found in the 2001 to 2010 mustangs (05 to 10 uses hydraulic clutch set-up) Non performance/racing driving style recomended due to lower hp and tq ratings but it should be upgraded to higher torque capacity to be reliable. Better torque rating at 325lbtq on a 3260lbs GVW Should not be used in stock trim as reliability will be and issue will only fit the 92.5- car because of it,s bolt pattern that is common to the 5.0 and 5.8 engines. Can be found in any older fox body mustangs Information is provided by Tremec and rating are for stock transmission. Recently I have seens lots of post regarding the manual swap so heres a summary of what you should know abouth it and what is the best transmission for this kind of swap.
